President Reuven Rivlin visited the Sorek Desalination Plant, the largest of its kind in the world, not just Israel, on Sunday. It's one of five desalination plants that produce about 80% of the water needed domestic use in the country.

At the end of the tour, everyone raised a glass of desalinated water in a toast, and the president said admiringly: "We are drinking water 45 minutes ago, the sea fish drank, the wonders of technology." He added, "Even in this reality, we must not waste any drop and we need to save water. This is the responsibility of each and every one of us. Here's to the wonderful water that is brought to us from the sea."
