The National Union Party's youth movement has appealed to Sports Minister Sara Regev for a postponement of Israel's soccer match against Argentina, scheduled for June 9th at 9:30 pm at Jerusalem's Teddy Stadium.

While the kickoff is an hour after the end of the Sabbath, the petitioners wrote that "it is clear to all that in this situation religious and observant people will not be able to come and participate in the game." They added, "Even worse is that many security forces, behind-the-scenes officials and the players of the national team will be forced to desecrate the Sabbath against their will."
