Former United States ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro defended himself on Tuesday against a critic of his condemnation of Hamas for its role in the deaths of Gaza rioters on Monday.
Responding on Twitter to the critic's demand that Shapiro "value Palestinian blood the same as anyone else's blood," Shapiro said, "I do. I devoted huge efforts while in government improve humanitarian conditions in Gaza. I also raised cases where Israel needed to investigate their own use of force (and they did). I wish Hamas leaders valued Palestinian lives as much as they value their rockets and tunnels."
