Marco Sermoneta, Israel's ambassador to Colombia, is scheduled to meet today with the head of Colombia's Immigration Division, who is in charge of border visits, and will express his concern about obstacles being raised to Israelis trying to enter the country.
The embassy in Colombia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have received inquiries in recent weeks about cases in which the entry of young Israelis into the country was delayed and even prevented. The ministry noted that there has been a sharp increase in the strictness of the screening of the young Israelis in the wake of what were described as abnormal incidents involving young Israelis visiting the country.
