Members of the Knesset Finance Committee, headed by Chairman Moshe Gafni, have made it clear that they wont' agree to cancel the exemption from taxes on Internet purchases (personal import) abroad up to $75.

In addition, the committee called on the government to act to find solutions that would help Israeli retail chains, which are in difficult economic difficulties, against the background of the increase in online purchases. The Finance Ministry refused to present its position on the future of the exemption on the grounds that the matter was being discussed by the Supreme Court.
