With Tuesday morning's removal of 13 anti-tank mines that were planted 70 years ago, the Mine-Clearance Authority at the Ministry of Defense has completed a project to clear mines in the Ramat Gilad neighborhood of the Samarian Jewish community of Karnei Shomron.
In the first mine-clearance project carried out in Judea and Samaria, thousands of mines were cleared in an 80-dunam/20-acre area that will allow the construction of about 1,200 housing units.
