Commander Shimon Alkabetz of Israel Defense Forces Radio said on Monday that broadcaster Koby Meidan has apologized for a Facebook post in which he said "I'm ashamed to be an Israeli," following the shooting of Gazans who engaged in a violent demonstration on Friday.
Alkabetz called Meidan in for a second clarification meeting about the incident, in which Alkabetz made it clear to Meidan that he had violated the station's code of ethics, which calls for discretion in any external forum, online or otherwise. Meidan made it clear that he had not written one bad word about the soldiers, and after what the station called his sincere words, Alkabetz considered the matter closed and said that the ties would be maintained.
