Iranian official: Bolton appointment 'a shame'

A senior Iranian official on Sunday blasted the appointment of former UN Ambassador John Bolton to the role of National Security Adviser of the United States, calling it “a shame,” The Associated Press reported.

Ali Shamkhani, secretary of the Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, was quoted by the semiofficial Iranian Fars news agency as saying for an “apparent superpower it is a matter of shame that its national security adviser receives wages from a terrorist group.”
