Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely is scheduled to hold a briefing for foreign ambassadors on Monday with the Israel Defense Forces Spokesperson's Unit, following the exposure of the terrorist tunnel on the Gaza border today.
One of the tunnels in which Hamas tried to renew its activity near Kerem Shalom is the same tunnel visited by the foreign ambassadors in a tour conducted by Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely two weeks ago. In a letter to the ambassadors, Hotovely wrote, "Only two weeks ago you saw with your own eyes the route of the tunnel at Kerem Shalom, the same tunnel that Hamas tried to reconstruct in order to harm the citizens of Israel." She concluded, "You have received proof that the generous funds that some of your countries are transferring to the Gaza Strip are being used for terrorist purposes and not for rehabilitation,"
