The Jerusalem District Court ruled on Sunday that a parchment scroll of belonging to a Samaritan Torah scroll from the 11th century will remain in the hands of the Civil Administration.

The scroll was seized in 2013 during an attempt to smuggle it into the Allenby Bridge. After the seizure, it was discovered that this rare scroll was dated to the tenth-eleventh centuries (around the year 1000 CE). According to its date, this scroll is one of the oldest known to date and joins a very limited number of Samaritan documents dating to the early Middle Ages.
