The Knesset Interior Committee approved, Monday, amendment of the Mikve Israel Law to allow the use of the Mikve Israel area for the construction of railroad tracks.
Today there are three railway lines operating in the Ayalon corridor, allowing a maximum of 14 trains per hour. With the rezoning of the lands and the construction of a fourth track, the railway capacity in the corridor will increase by about 50%.
