The Center of Organizations of Holocaust Survivors in Israel is holding a unique, first-of-its-kind conference this week in cooperation with Yad Vashem and the Shalom Hartman Institute, which will deal with one of the most stormy issues in Israel and the world in recent times - the memory of the Holocaust and the way in which memory should be assimilated to future generations, according to Maariv.
The conference will include an extraordinary meeting with Polish historian Professor Jan Grabowski, whose book, "Hunt for the Jews" was published in Hebrew by Yad Vashem in 2016 and sparked a public outcry in Poland immediately when he determined that more than 200,000 Jews in Poland were murdered directly or indirectly by the locals and that most of the citizens of the occupied state stood idly by even when they understood what was going on under their noses.
