160 families who were evicted by the government from the Gush Katif area of Gaza in 2005 have not yet reached their permanent homes, according to a report by Asaf Yitzhaki, the director of the Agriculture Ministry's agriculture department for Tuesday's Interior Committee meeting on their absorption.

With the exception of 28 families, all others are expected to enter their permanent homes within a year. The 28 families that still have no solution are families whose compensation money has been spent over the years and now they have no financial option to build a home. They have been offered the solution of setting up a 100-square-meter caravilla (to be provided without charge) or industrial building on their lot, and the rent will be NIS 1,500 a month.
