Amikam Norkin, commander of the Israel Air Force, on Sunday visited the Rambam Hospital in Haifa and met the pilot who was seriously injured in the incident near the Syrian border on Saturday.
Norkin told the pilot, Major A., "From the moment you understood that you had to abandon the plane, you made the right decision, thus saving the life of the navigator as well as your own life."
