Member of Knesset Yisrael Eichler (United Torah Judaism) and 11 other Knesset members have asked Chairman Mickey Zohar of the Knesset House Committee to discuss the possibility that a Knesset member who petitions the Supreme Court against laws passed by the Knesset be punished by the Ethics Committee.
Eichler wrote to Zohar, "The Knesset's power is diminishing in the face of the High Court's attempts to cancel and to bend the laws at will. It is the fault of the Knesset members who have stopped seeing the decisions of elected officials as a legitimate fact, and ask the High Court of Justice to impose the authority of unelected judges on the public."
