The FSB Russian federal security service announced on Thursday that it had killed a person from a neighboring country, suspected of belonging to the Islamic State terror movement, who planned to carry out a terrorist attack on the day of Russia's presidential election.
The authorities reported that the suspect opened fire at security service personnel when they tried to capture him and was shot to death. An improvised explosive device and weapons were found.
