Minister Yisrael Katz has called on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to immediately recall the Israeli ambassador to Poland for consultations in Israel, following the Polish Senate's approval of a bill to criminalize blaming Poland for Holocaust-era crimes against the Jews there.
Katz said, "The law enacted by the Poles is grave and constitutes a denial of responsibility and denial of Poland's role in the Holocaust against the Jews." He added, "In the balance between political considerations and moral considerations, there must be a clear decision - commemorating the memory of Holocaust victims over any other consideration."
