Minister Yoav Galant said Thursday that Israel could not take a business-as-usual approach, following the decision of the Polish Senate to approve a bill that would impose a prison sentence on those who would blame Poland for involvement in Nazi crimes.
Interviewed by Israel Defense Forces Radio, the retired general said, "Polish anti-Semitism was the grease on the wheels of the Holocaust. They deny their partial responsibility for supporting and assisting in Jewish annihilation. We have to sit down and discuss the issue because it is impossible to accept Holocaust denial."
