Israel Police Chief Rabbi Rami Brachiahu decried the growing politicization of law enforcement, saying that it is unacceptable for the police to become a weapon in a political battle.

"The police are responsible for the safety of the demonstrators, for keeping the law, for public order, and for maintaining a normal course of life, even in the case of poor people whose demonstration is justified but disrupts the normal course of life that is liable to harm the peace of others," said Brachiahu at a conference at the Ramada Hotel in Jerusalem.
