The Palestinian Authority cabinet has rejected United States President Donald Trump's remarks regarding the removal of the Jerusalem issue from the negotiating table and the threat he made to stop financial aid to the Palestinian Authority if it does not resume attempts to renew political contacts.
After a meeting in Ramallah on Monday, the PA government issued a statement saying, "We will not surrender to American blackmail." It added, "An international mechanism should be established to settle the conflict with Israel." The PA claims the international community should help realize the goals of the Palestinian people, especially what the government has defined as the "refugee problem."
