The Jerusalem Labor Court ruled that kindergartens, elementary schools and junior high schools in the city would be closed for an hour on Monday morning and classes will begin at 9:00 a.m. due to a teacher's strike in protest of violence against teachers. The teachers had originally asked to strike for two hours and start school at 10:00.

The strike follows a serious incident at the Tali Gilo school a few days ago, when the mother of a sixth grader broke into a classroom, and slapped and kicked the teacher in front of the students.
