Major-General Yoav Mordechai, the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, visited the Gaza envelope this morning with United States Middle East envoy Jason Greenblatt.
During the visit, the two had a close look at newly-revealed tunnels that penetrated Israeli territory and the humanitarian issues in the Gaza Strip. Mordechai said, "The difficult situation in the Gaza Strip is the result of the policy of the Hamas terror organization, which, instead of investing in the population, invests in the death tunnels and the manufacture of weapons. Similarly, It is also the result of the policy of the Palestinian Authority, which does not invest enough in the Gaza Strip and imposes sanctions on its residents. I hope the international community and the Palestinians understand this."
