Ashkenazic Chief Rabbi David Lau has instructed those who lead prayers to stop saying the prayer addressing the lack of rain, following the recent drop in rainfall.
Rabbi said individuals may continue to say the prayer as long as the rains are needed in the same manner as other private requests said at that point of the Amidah quiet standing prayer.
