Education Minister Naftali Bennett announced that Professor Elisha Qimron will win the Israel Prize for Research in Jewish Studies.

Qimron is one of the leading experts of the Dead Sea Scrolls. "His works are groundbreaking both in the Hebrew grammar of the scrolls and in the publication of the three volumes dealing with the scrolls, which are used by all scholars of the Second Temple period in the fields of language, biblical interpretation, and ancient halakha," said the prize committee.
