The Yisrael Beytenu Knesset faction urged the police to open an investigation of popular Israeli rock star Gidi Gov after he made fun of party leader Avigdor Liberman's Russian accent and disparaged him as "a new immigrant" on his radio program.

In an appeal to Attorney General Avichai Mandeblit, MK Yulia Malinovsky contended that Gov's remarks humiliated millions of Israel's Russian-speaking citizens. "I appeal to you to open an immediate criminal investigation into incitement of racism charges regarding  Gidi Gov," wrote Malinovsky.
