The Palestinian news agency Wafa reports that PA senior advisor Nabil Shaath met with the Canadian ambassador to the UN and the Canadian attache in Ramallah and asked them to recognize a Palestinian state with Eastern Jerusalem as its capital.
Shaath also asked Canada to continue its UNRWA support and to support Palestinian activity at the UN.
The ambassador reportedly emphasized his country's support for a two-state solution and added that support for UNRWA would continue.
