The Knesset Labor, Welfare and Health Committee has approved regulations to exempt single parents who are studying for a bachelor's degree or certificate at an institution of higher education from checking in at the government employment service in order to keep their benefits.
The exemption is based on at least 30 hours working and studying a week in 2018 and 36 weekly hours from 2019 onward.
