The Knesset has approved the first reading of the "Cabinet Law", authored by Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked, under which the government will be authorized to delegate to the cabinet, with the approval of the prime minister, the authority to embark on a military operation that could lead to war.
Shaked said that "the day that Pence declares the US commitment to the security of the State of Israel, the Knesset strengthens security by legislation." She added, "In the era of social networks and the speed of media and the danger of leaks, we must adapt ourselves to the current political security outlook and streamline the work of the government and cabinet as much as possible."
