The Ministerial Committee on Legislation has endorsed a bill by ministers Gilad Erdan and Ayelet Shaked to keep the funerals of terrorists from turning into shows of support for terror.
According to a memorandum of the law, the police will be authorized to delay the return of terrorist bodies in order to prevent funerals from becoming a demonstration of incitement to terrorism. The initiative came in the wake of the Jabarin High Court ruling that the police currently have no legal authority in that regard.
