The Free Israel movement has promised to pay any fines placed on supermarkets which open on Shabbat but may be at odds with the law for their gesture.
The movement announced a new campaign to crowdfund to allow the opening of businesses and to combat the supermarket law as well as paying fines until the municipal elections in October.
The law states that if any person or organization opens a donation drive to pay a criminal fine ruled by the court, he is liable to six months in jail.
