The Economics Affairs Committee met to discuss road accident statistics in 2017.
Committee chairman Eitan Cabel said that "we haven't succeeded in creating the sense of urgency in tackling road fatalities, and the most significant proof of this is that the prime minister needs to establish a ministerial committee on the matter. The number of fatalities may have dropped in comparison with previous years but 364 fatalities is still a lot when the goal was to get below 300 fatalities."
