The Knesset approved on Monday evening the first reading of a bill proposed by Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked, which states that there will be no obligation to issue a tender when hiring a legal adviser to a government ministry.
Instead, the appointment will be made by the minister in charge of the ministry, at the suggestion of a search committee and with the consent of the Attorney General.
