The consumer price index rose a tenth of a percent in December and four tenths of a percent in 2017, according to figures released on Monday by the Central Bureau of Statistics.

Leading the increases were clothing and footwear at 4.3 percent and transportation at six tenths of a percent. They were offset by lower prices for fresh vegetables (6.4 percent), culture and entertainment (1.3 percent) and furniture and household equipment (1.1 percent).
