The Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and the Forum of Technological Colleges have reached understandings regarding reform in the technological education system.

Under the reform, an investment of 200 million shekels will be made in the technological colleges that meet the criteria, together with an additional NIS 225 million for infrastructure and development. The reform is intended to ensure the growth of the colleges and improve the level of technological training in Israel, according to the needs of the economy. In addition, the reform determines the stratification of the study track so that the students will be able to receive a technician's degree after only one year, and will receive a long-range view for continuing studies after being certified as an engineer.
