Prime Minister Netanyahu and his wife Sara landed in India Sunday for what they described as a "historic" visit to India.
Indian prime minister Narendra Modi surprised Netanyahu and arrived to greet him at the airport, despite the plan being that the Indian foreign minister would receive Netanyahu's entourage.
Modi also tweeted in Hebrew "Welcome to India, my friend Prime Minister Netanyahu! Your visit to India is historic and special and will strengthen ties between our nations."
Netanyahu thanked Modi and said he appreciated the moving gesture on his part.
