Mayor Moshe Fadlon of Herzliya has declared that he strongly opposes the just-passed Supermarket Law, which gives the interior minister authority over the opening of businesses on the Jewish Sabbath.
Fadlon said, "Next Sunday, we will pass a municipal bylaw in the city council, and if the law is not approved by the interior minister, I intend to continue the resistance and go to the Supreme Court."
