Opposition leader Yitzhak Herzog has attacked the decision of the Likud Central Committee to support the establishment of Israeli sovereignty in Judea and Samaria, calling, "the decision of the Likud Central Committee to annex Judea and Samaria - another irresponsible, impractical and unnecessary decision produced by the Likud."

Herzog warned, "It will put out the eyes of an administration sympathetic to Israel, cause political, political and demographic complications and the loss of all hope for peace." He called it, "a cheap populist decision that proves once again that the Likud is preparing for elections."
