MK Sharren Haskel (Likud) who initiated the law to reduce regulation on specified broadcasting channels referred to the Economics Committee discussion of the proposed law, stating that "all the channels cannot keep their heads above the water. We must give them an opportunity to grow so that the industry will flourish and money will be invested in all forms [of entertainment.]
"The way to do this is by reducing regulation."
