Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurtz has called on European Union leaders to stop the policy of refugee quotas and to begin providing aid in their countries of origin.
"The refugees are not interested in Bulgaria or Hungary, but rather in Germany, Austria and Sweden," Kurtz said in an interview with the German newspaper Bild. He suggested helping and even reorganizing the refugees countries of origin, even if military aid is required.
