'We were killed for Jerusalem and we'll continue to defend it'

Former IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz spoke on Thursday evening during the 10th Limmud FSU event in Eilat.

In his remarks, Gantz responded to the UN General Assembly’s approval of a resolution rejecting U.S. President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

"I do not need an American president to tell me what my capital is, and I am not bothered by the vote that follows," he said, adding, "The capital of Israel is Jerusalem, no matter what happens. We fought for it, we were killed for it, and we will continue to defend it - no matter what.”
