Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan responded to the decision by the UN General Assembly rejecting the recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
"The historic connection of the people of Israel to Jerusalem is stronger than any decision of the intimidated nations who cannot accept the truth that Jerusalem is the capital of the state of Israel and the Jewish people. At a time when the US recognizes this simple truth, the UN chooses once again to support the lies and ignore the reality which has existed for the past 70 years," Arden said.
Our answer to the campaign by Mahmoud Abbas and his supporters at the UN will be to strengthen the sovereignty and security in all of Jerusalem and build all over. The Palestinians will threaten, the UN will vote and we will vote and strengthen."
