Jewish Home faction head MK Shuli Mualem-Rafaeli referred to threats by Channel 20 to stop broadcasting due to regulatory issues with the Cable and Satellite Broadcasting Council.
Mualem-Rafaeli said that "the truth must be said, Channel 20 suffers from political persecution. An elite self-appointed group controls media speech in the name of 'pluralism' but is not willing to allow the channel to continue. This is not an issue of rating or due to economic considerations. This has one consideration- shutting mouths.
"The reason for this is obvious. The channel provides an expression for a broad spectrum of the Israeli public which does not get proper representation in other media outlets."
