The Labor and Social Affairs Committee approved for second and third reading the government bill calling for the Welfare and Social Services Minister to take Jewish tradition into consideration when deciding whether to grant work permits on Shabbat.
The law passed the committee by a majority of 8 to 4 and all the opposition motions against the law were rejected.
