The Israel Cancer Association recommends that cancer patients receive the seasonal flu vaccine.

According to oncologist Prof. Eliezer Robinson, chairman of the Israel Cancer Association: "Influenza vaccination is considered safe for cancer patients. It is recommended that patients, especially cancer patients, who are treated with oncology treatments receive a flu vaccine and thus reduce their risk of getting sik." He stressed that "in any case, the cancer patient must consult with the attending physician before receiving the vaccine."
