Jerusalem City Councilman Aryeh King has submitted a proposal to Chairwoman Yael Antebi of the Municipal Names Committee to replace the name of Salah Ad-Din Street, north of the Old City with the name of United States President Donald Trump, following the president's declaration of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
King said, "This street, on which various government ministries are located, needs to be further strengthened by our sovereignty and control in the area and one of the things is to change the name of the street, so that it should be unequivocal that we are the sovereign ones in the region, and the one who actually contributed to this is the president of the United States."
