Ahead of a Security Council vote, Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon has harshly criticized an Egyptian resolution which calls on “all States to refrain from the establishment of diplomatic missions in the Holy City of Jerusalem,” and demands that countries “comply with Security Council resolutions regarding the Holy City of Jerusalem, and not to recognize any actions or measures contrary to those resolutions.”
Ambassador Danon called on the Security Council to end its focus on Jerusalem, saying “Members of the Council can vote again and again - for a hundred more times. It won’t change the simple fact that Jerusalem is, has been, and always will be the capital of Israel.”
