Hundreds of thousands of workers did not arrive at their workplaces after a national strike was announces as part of protest measures demonstrating solidarity with Teva workers.
All government offices, local authorities, the judicial system and the prosecution as well as banks, the stock exchange, insurance companies, telecommunications companies, health workers and many other offices will remain closed until 12 AM.
A short time ago all departures and arrivals from Ben Gurion airport were halted. Some flights were rescheduled and others were cancelled including flights to and from Moscow, Istanbul, Bucharest and other locations.
All work at Teva's factories has been halted. Teva workers are conducting stormy demonstrations and vigils near Teva facilities around the country.
