Rabbi Rimon:Don't take loans to fund expensive weddings

Rabbi Yosef Tzvi Rimon, the head of the Lev Academic Center's Beit Midrash, spoke at a joint conference with the Keter Institute, which was also attended by Supreme Court judge Neil Hendel, Chief Rabbi David Lau and Deputy Finance Minister Yitzhak Cohen.

Rimon said that using free loan societies frequently is not good as it can force people to take one loan just to return other loans and then a third loan. He said that if a family does not have money, it should not take loans in order to fund a wedding. Loan societies should be used instead for small loans.

Rimon added that business loans are approved by the Torah but loans for private people are more halakhically problematic.
