President Reuven Rivlin paid a condolence visit to the house of Sergeant Ron Yitzhak Kukia, who was murdered in a stabbing attack in Arad last Thursday.
Rivlin heard from the soldier's father, Boaz Kukia, about his service as a paratrooper and his sons' service in the Nahal and paratrooper brigades.
The soldier's mother, Levana, asked the president to pass on her request for clearer guidelines for soldiers on their way to and from their bases in order to improve safety levels.
The president said that "this is a true cry, how is it that we are here instead of attending your joyous family occasions. The IDF will publish guidelines and learn lessons and we will stay with you, you will see that we will yet attend your joyous occasions."
