The Movement for Governmental Integrity is demanding that Minister of religious services David Azulai see to it that chief rabbis are named in cities where there has been no rabbi for some time, especially the cities of Tel Aviv and Haifa.
Movement Chairman Mordechai Eisenberg wrote to Azoulay that other cities having gone without a chief rabbi for a while include Ariel, Ashkelon, Bnei Brak, Gedera, Hod Hasharon, Harish, Yehud, Lod, Mitzpe Ramon, Kiryat Bialik, Kiryat Malachi, Ramat Hasharon and Sderot, among others.
